Minutes of the III Executive Committee Meeting held on 30th November 2018, I floor, IMA Hall, Mangaluru

MINUTES:

 

  1. President welcomed the members of the E.C. and thanked them for the cooperation extended in managing the MOGS functioning so far and outlined the work done till now. She urged the E.C. to encourage all the members to register in the newly launched website and follow the MOGS accounts on social media as well. Dr.Prasanna Kumar Shetty proposed that in the forthcoming office-bearers list of E.C. members, there should be a designated member in-charge of social media and IT and it was seconded by Dr.Vatsala Kamath and unanimously approved.

 

  1. It was decided that monthly academic meeting was to be held if possible on Dec 14thor 21st subject to availability of sponsorship. The family get-together was deferred until AGM or earlier if feasible.

 

  1. Vatsala Kamath proposed that the proceeds of the YUVA KSOGA be invested in the following manner with a view of maximizing the interest & earnings to the Society for its future needs. The funds from dividends from investments of mutual funds to be used for maintenance of MOGS website, holding MOGS meetings in IMA Hall and other miscellaneous expenses. The returns from FDs and the Principal of approximately 42 lakhs are intended to be used for long-term projects or goals of MOGS (eg; secure own premises for MOGS sometime in the future)

  1. The E.C. decided that the Ballot papers for the upcoming MOGS Elections for new Office-bearers for the year 2019-20 are to be printed in the MOGS Letter-head and to reach the members by 15thJanuary 2019, duly filled Ballot papers (nominations/proposals) to reach MOGS Office by Jan 30th Last date for withdrawal of nominations will be Feb 15th2019. Dr Vatsala Kamath proposed the name of Past President Dr.Prema D’Cunha as Election Officer for the year 2019-20 and Dr.Sally Mary Abraham seconded it.

 

  1. It was proposed that the AGM of MOGS for the year 2019-20 be held on 18thMarch 2019 tentatively, and the President directed the Secretary to send notification to members at least 3 weeks before the AGM, as per bye-laws.

 

  1. President Dr Vatsala Kamath proposed that Health Talks on adolescent health, menstrual hygiene, and menstrual disorders be held by MOGS members as Community Outreach initiatives of the Society, if any schools or colleges are interested and that the MOGS banner be displayed wherever such meetings are held. She also proposed that the Medico-legal cell conduct confidential enquiries about the maternal deaths that occurred recently at Mangalore and Puttur on 7thDec 2018. It was also decided that in future, whenever the help of medico-legal cell of MOGS was sought, a discussion and audit of the adverse event shall be held within 7 days of the event with the concerned doctor.
