MINUTES- of the Executive Committee meeting of MOGS held on 24-08-2018, Friday

Venue: I floor, IMA Hall, Attavar, Mangaluru.

Members present: Dr. Vatsala Kamath (President), Dr.Sally Mary Abraham(Vice-President), Dr.Prasanna Kumar Shetty K.(Secretary), Dr.Bharathi Shetty, Dr.Vidyashree Kamath, Dr.Lynsel Texiera.

  1. President welcomed the Exec Committee members and thanked all of them for their support and cooperation so far.
  2. PG Forum: Dr. Vatsala Kamath informed the members about the Program for the PG forum to be held on 02-09-2018, Sunday.
  3. Medicolegal cell: President briefed the members about the outline of the role of medicolegal cell and the initiatives to be taken to prevent untoward incidents if bad outcomes happen.
  4. Aim is to provide guidance, moral support and to prevent intimidation and assault on doctors during obstetric calamities.
  5. Duration of the committee will be for 3 years. President & Secretary will be members for one year.
  • Support will be given to MOGS members on priority and also to non- members if requested. All MOGS members are requested as far as possible to extend the help to the involved colleague by their physical presence.
  1. The initiative of the cell will be linked to the medicolegal cell of AMC and the cell members will see that the documentation of the concerned Obstetrician is as near perfect as the circumstances may permit.
  2. No member of the Cell will be asked to give second opinion about the case to avoid conflict of interest. The involved doctor must keep the Cell members informed about the condition of the patient from time to time. In the unfortunate situation of patient’s demise, the Hospital/Nursing Home shall follow their usual protocol.
  3. MOGS Website: It was decided to accept the quotation given by Ms. Gita Pandit for the proposed MOGS website. Vatsala Kamath will write the President’s message and other relevant content and Dr. Naveenchandra Nayak will be writing and uploading content and educational material/media. The Website committee has a tenure of 5 years.

Upcoming CMEs: Dr.Vatsala Kamath informed that AJIMS will hold the CME on contraception in October under the aegis of AJ & MOGS. More community based activities will be planned in the future.
